About Us
Ovington Cricket Club is a friendly and welcoming cricket club in the centre of York, just moments away from York Racecourse. We operate three senior Saturday teams across two leagues alongside a Wednesday evening side.
We have a thriving Junior section with several teams ranging from U9’s to U15’s along providing an ECB All Stars & Dynamos Cricket programme.
We pride ourselves on giving cricketers of all ages and abilities a chance to participate and are ECB Clubmark Accredited.
Ovington CC Juniors
We value inclusion of junior players of all abilities and experience, having several junior teams from Under 9’s to Under 15’s, including an Under 11’s Girls Team.
Ovington Cricket Club pride ourselves on giving all juniors a chance to enjoy cricket, not turning anyone away & providing sporting opportunities at an highly competitive cost.
All Stars Cricket & Dynamos
An ideal introduction into Cricket, the ECB All Stars programme is for 5-8 year olds is to give them their first experience of cricket within a fun environment, ran by qualified coaches and volunteers, across an eight week schedule.
In 2022 we are also running Dynamos, in partnership with the ECB. It’s a similar course but for 8-11 years olds. We’re expecting it to sell out, so book quickly!
Ovington CC Seniors
Three senior teams playing Saturday Cricket. Our First Team play in Division 2 Galtres of the YDSCL, having won a League and Cup double in 2021. Our Seconds and Thirds play in the York Vale League, Divisions 1 and 2. The standard ranges from competitive to a more relaxed environment, giving either returning cricketers or junior players an ideal place to play adult cricket at an appropriate standard.
For those interested in T20 Cricket, our Foss Evening League team play on a Wednesday evening. We are an inclusive, welcoming club, where new players are treated fairly, so if you wanted more information about joining us, please get in touch.
