Andrew Cole Benefit Day – Sunday 3rd September 2023
Ovington CC will host an exhibition game between a current Ovington XI and a President’s Team in aid of a good cause. Watch some of the current Ovington team welcome back some club legends, friends and family for an exciting game of cricket from 1pm.
Andy was taken seriously ill in May of this year. After a long period in hospital, including intensive care and on life support, he is currently recovering at a specialist Neurological Rehabilitation in York. He is determined in his rehab and in good spirits.
Bring and Share for food and beverages
“We are promoting ‘bring and share’ for both food and beverages. All contributions to the buffet will be gratefully received, sweet and savoury. We will have a BBQ available and there will be some burgers, sausages and vegetarian options but anything else you want to bring we would be happy to help cook.
The Juniors will also be holding their Presentations throughout whilst the cricket is ongoing. If you have any equipment, such as tables or chairs you might want to bring, then please feel free!

The Cricket
The day’s activities will start at 12, with the cricket beginning at 1pm. Please note that the match will be a hard ball game under a modified rule set and not suitable for young children. No requirement for wearing whites. The Ovington team will be wearing a training kit/light blue.
If you’re interested in taking part, then congratulations, you’re picked to play! We are intending on making sure that everyone who wants a game, features.
Why we’re supporting the Cole family
Andrew Cole has been playing cricket for Ovington for as long as anyone can remember and is a much loved figure in the club. Over the years Andrew and the rest of the Cole family have contributed more to the club than can ever properly be listed here.
Now it is our turn to repay some of that and help Andrew, Rachael and their children, as he recovers.
